# Changing a Setting

Heirloom Gallery provides a variety of settings that let you customize how your gallery works.

1. Go to the **Gallery Manager** page.
2. Open **Settings**.
3. Browse the available settings, which are organized into categories using different tabs.
4. Update a setting by selecting an option from a dropdown or checking or unchecking a checkbox.

Your changes are saved automatically as you make them. No **Save** button is required.

For example, you can change a dropdown selection or check or uncheck a checkbox, and the new setting will take effect immediately.
